Starfleet Corps of Engineers Division (SCE)

Motto: Have tech, will travel

Greetings Everyone,

Since the birth of Starfleet, the Corps of Engineers has served as the backbone of the fleet’s many starships. It provides a variety of services ranging from refits and repairs of starships and starbases to the handling of specialized operations such as planetary terra forming and the recolonization of worlds left uninhabitable following the onslaught of some natural phenomenon or as a repercussion of war.

As a branch of Starfleet Command, Alpha Fleet has its own set of Corps & Bureaus governed by its current active members. The Corps of Engineers works to provide information on new or rarely used pieces of technology to the various members of the Engineering and Operations staff across the entire fleet. Alpha Fleet has quickly grown to become one of the most prominent defense lines in the entirety of Starfleet, capable of handling diplomatic and scientific missions along with battle and missions of mercy.

As Director of the Corps of Engineers, I invite you to help in the construction of this site by providing either the Director or one of the Assistant Directors with information or suggestions concerning content, design, and new features that should be added. The database is under constant development and new content is added frequently. I invite you to check back periodically and to browse the information currently available.

Commanding Officers, please feel free to contact myself or one of the other staff members for guest appearances on your simulation. As part of the Department of Fleet Operations, we are here to assist you and your crews in missions as you may require.

Thank You, and I look forward to seeing you all in the Fleet.

Current Projects

Duties

The primary duty of the Starfleet Corps of Engineers is the construction and repair of vital facilities in hazardous areas or during times of crisis. This includes everything from building a strategic outpost on the front of a war zone to aiding in disaster relief and prevention. SCE engineers assist in building shelters to protect populations from impending disasters, from meteor strikes to radiation storms, earthquakes, and tsunami. They build command centers, hospitals and triage areas and temporary quarters for Starfleet personnel operating in the field. They assist in salvage and repair operations of damaged and derelict vessels and stations, particularly in hostile areas. They also rescue victims of disasters where matters like structural damage and systems failures are concerned. In peacetime, the SCE handles some of the Corps' most dangerous assignments, working on "hell planets" with crushing gravity, tremendous heat or cold, corrosive atmospheres, and so forth. -Commander Rowan Archer, USS Deliverance
